Assistant Dean and Executive Director of Career Communities
Julie leads the developing Career Communities program, designed to provide students and early career alumni access to industry-focused advising, experiential learning opportunities, and targeted programming as they focus and connect their values, strengths, and interests to particular post-graduate goals and ambitions. Julie also leads the Law Community, serves as the Pre-Law Adviser, and advises students and graduates interested in careers in law.
A native of Michigan, Julie has lived all over the country (Michigan, Ohio, Louisiana, Indiana, Illinois, Nevada, and now Iowa!), and has worked both in higher education and as a practicing attorney in labor, employment, and education law. Julie holds degrees from Olivet College (BA in history and secondary education), Miami University (MS in college student personnel services) and the University of Notre Dame Law School (JD).
A rabid college football fan, Julie and her family enjoy tailgating and cheering on the Fighting Irish. She is an avid runner, is (slowly) learning to ride a bike, and fully embraces the Oxford comma.
