Residence Life Coordinator
Evette Massey is originally from North Carolina, where she lived for 17 years before moving to Lenox, Iowa. Lenox is a small town located in southwest Iowa. Evette attended Northwest Missouri State University and earned her degree in mass media: multimedia journalism. She then went up north to attend University of St. Thomas in Minnesota for her Master’s in Leadership in Student Affairs degree. In her free time, Evette likes to cook, bake, “attempting to be creative,” as well as watching hockey (and other sports), reading a good book, and staying active. Evette adds that she also likes to be a couch potato and binge-watching Netflix from time to time.
For Evette, the best part of Grinnell College is the sense of community she gets just from walking around campus, whether that be in academic or administrative buildings or in residence halls. She adds that “Stemming from that sense of community comes the free flow of ideas and the level of engagement in every aspect of what it means to be a Grinnellian. I think that’s pretty cool.”
Her main area of responsibility is being the residence life coordinator of Cowles, Norris, and Dibble Hall, also commonly known as “CaNaDa.”
