Taha Atta Tawil, Imam (Islamic religious leader) of the Mother Mosque of America, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Tawil was chaplain at the police department, and also served as a civil rights commissioner for 7 (seven) years in the City of Cedar Rapids. He was a co-founder of the Inter-Religious Council of Linn County.

Imam Taha Tawil is a graduate of Jerusalem University with LL.B in Islamic Law, and a master's (MA) degree from the University of Iowa, in Theology and Ethics. Imam Taha was an adjunct faculty at Lake Land College in Illinois. He taught the subject World Religion, Ethics, Logic, and Philosophy of Religion for over 15 years. Now he serves as the prayer leader for Muslim students at Grinnell College.
