Diane F. Burt grew up on a farm in Rockwell City, Iowa, a small town in Northwest Iowa. She attended Des Moines Area Community College and earned her AA in Liberal Arts. She previously worked at Iowa State University before starting at Grinnell College in 2013. She loves animals and has a Golden Retriever, Abby and a tortoise shell kitty, Tallulah. In her free time, Diane enjoys reading, quilting, and cooking. She loves to travel and her favorite places to visit have been Colorado, Boston, and the Caribbean. She also enjoys camping, hiking, and exploring Northeast Iowa. She hopes to one day visit all 50 states.
Diane said that the best part of Grinnell College is the students! She enjoys the passion and energy of the students, as well as getting to know each one and assisting them in getting the care they need.
Diane works with Student Health and Counseling Services (SHACS), and her main areas of responsibilities include scheduling nursing and counseling appointments, managing the front desk area of SHACS, as well as coordinating the health center transportation for students who have local medical or mental health appointments and pharmacies in Grinnell.
SHACS, 641-269-3230, is located on the lower level of the Forum and offers a variety of medical and counseling services.
