Where are you from originally and what do you like most about living in Grinnell?
I was born and raised in Grinnell, Iowa, and I’ve always enjoyed its size. I recognize and know personally many of the people that I see around town, and the community is warm and friendly. Moreover, the presence of Grinnell College helps bolster the quality of life in the town. I exercise in the college’s fitness center, and I can visit the art gallery or listen to a lecture on campus for free.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I’ve spent quite a bit of time in Spain, so I try to maintain and improve my Spanish by listening to the radio and reading in Spanish. I also like to exercise, and I’m an avid sports fan. The Los Angeles Lakers, the Atlanta Braves, and the Real Madrid Club de Fútbol are my favorite teams, so I watch some of their games when I can. My simplest pleasure, though, is walking my dog.
What do you like most about Grinnell students?
Grinnell students are bright and friendly. I appreciate their curiosity, and how they are willing to seek new experiences, whether it be by taking a class that they know little about, or by studying for a semester in a different country.
