Jonathan Larson

Assoc. Dir of Off-Campus Study, Instructor of Anthropology

Jonathan brings to OCS a range of international experiences as an educator, scholar, administrator, and academic adviser. He has taught courses in anthropology, language and linguistics, and Eastern Europe at Grinnell, the University of Iowa, and Miami University of Ohio. Jonathan brings other perspectives on trends and best practices to the office from activity in NAFSA: Association of International Educators and the Forum on Education Abroad.  He has served as interim director of the Office of OCS. He has also taught English, German, and theater abroad; studied at a foreign university; and participated in several kinds of exchanges.  A firm believer in the value of language study, Jonathan is fluent in three languages. Jonathan's academic research has focused on issues of language, politics, knowledge, and history in East Central Europe, and has been funded by several fellowships.
