Russell “Russ” Motta is from El Center, California. He earned his Associates in Science from Imperial Valley College in Imperial, California. He later went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colorado. In his free time, Russ has several hobbies, which include fishing, hunting, camping, and woodworking.
When he was asked about what he likes best in Grinnell College, Russ said that he enjoys working with the students.
Russ’ main areas of responsibility here at Grinnell College are being second in command at Campus Safety, and leads the department when needed. Russ works with different departments throughout campus, helping students, faculty, staff, and visitors with a myriad of questions and concerns.
The department of Campus Safety, 641-269-4600, plans and implements safety and security operations and programs and initiatives in support of the College’s mission and vision. Located on the corner of East Street and 10th Avenue, Campus Safety is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even when school is not in session.
