I grew up in Mason City, Iowa.
What do you like best about Grinnell College?
I love Grinnell College because the students are so actively involved in every aspect. I enjoy watching them grow in their understanding of self-governance and accountability during their time here.
Where did you attend school? College(s)? Degrees?
I attended Iowa State University, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Integrated Studio Arts, with a Minor in Psychology. I earned a Master of Education degree from Iowa State University - Master of Education, Higher Education-Student Affairs, with a Focus in Leadership and Learning.
What are your main areas of responsibility here at Grinnell College?
My areas include developing community and promoting self-governing values in Smith and Younker Halls as well as the Project and Language Houses, supervising and training student staff members, serving in a 24/7 crisis response on-call capacity, planning cluster-wide programs, serving as an academic advisor 10 hours per week, advising the Student Government Association, and assisting with the New Student Orientation program.
What do you like to do in your free time? Hobbies?
I enjoy sewing, crocheting, Mary Kay cosmetics, playing with my puppy and guinea pigs, and watching TV with my husband Joshua.
