Michele Regenold '89 has been a high school French teacher, a teaching assistant at Iowa State University (two different times), a house painter, a carpenter's assistant, a writer/editor/webmaster for a research institute at Iowa State, founding editor of an online magazine for teens (also Iowa State), and a college English teacher in northern Wisconsin. She's been at Grinnell since early 2014.
As editorial director, she oversees content for major publications, such as the Office of Admission's student recruiting materials, and web stories on the home page of Grinnell.edu. She supervises three staff members: the internal communications coordinator, the senior writer, and the editorial fellow.
Michele is also editor of The Grinnell Magazine. In 2015, she and Larissa Degen Stalcup, the magazine's new art director, implemented a major redesign of the magazine based on feedback from an alumni communications survey and the College's strategic priorities.
Michele is occasionally joined at work by her quiet, well-behaved, and eminently pettable dog, Joanie, a 35-pound Brittany spaniel.
