Deborah “Deb” Shill’s hometown is Clear Lake, Iowa. She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from North Iowa Community College and is currently a Registered Nurse. Deb loves to spend time with her family, which includes her husband, three children, and her granddaughter. She tries to spend time in Clear Lake with family and friends and she enjoys attending sporting events and concerts when she has the time. For Deb, bonfires, s’mores, and time at the lake on a quiet weekend is the best!
The best parts about Grinnell College for Deb are “the students and the diversity that this small liberal arts college brings to this cozy Midwest town.” She enjoys working with such a supportive DSA (Division of Student Affairs) staff and most of all, her amazing SHACS (Student Health and Counseling Services) staff.
Deb’s main areas of responsibility involve the care and well-being of the student body at Grinnell College. She oversees SHACS operations on both health and counseling, as well as manages the front desk operations, including the student staff. Deb is an active member of the DSA and works closely with the Deans and Directors on many different aspects of the division.
SHACS, 641-269-3230, is located on the lower level of the Forum and offers a variety of medical and counseling services.
