Melissa Strovers directs programs and communication aimed at improving the quality of life in Grinnell. Currently, Strovers manages the Grinnell AmeriCorps Partnership, a grant-funded program that brings together people throughout Grinnell to support community education priorities including the Campaign for Grade Level Reading, Skills Gap Initiative and Afterschool Enrichment Programming. Prior to her position with Grinnell College, Strovers served as the Executive Director of Imagine Grinnell. During her time with Imagine Grinnell, Strovers was instrumental in securing nearly $1 million in funding for the expansion of the Grinnell Area Recreation Trail – as well as leading key healthy initiatives in the community. Strovers holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Oklahoma Christian University. Strovers is pursuing a master’s degree in public administration from Drake University, with an anticipated graduation date in the fall of 2017.
