Start Exploring!

Exploration is beneficial to you in all stages of your collegiate career. Your exploratory adviser can help you decide on an academic major, debate between fields and industries, and discover how your academic, civic, and personal interests can translate into a fulfilling career after you graduate.

While the career development process is not linear and does not follow a prescribed structure, there are steps to help you discern your path. My Journey: A Guide for Students describes a framework to consider: explore, connect, experience, and reflect/synthesize. This process requires your active engagement and a willingness to stretch beyond your comfort zone. Be open-minded, take risks, and have fun!

The Center for Careers, Life, and Service offers a variety of support and programming to engage you in the exploration process. Your Exploratory Adviser will help you determine what tools, resources, and experiences best fit your needs.
