The Grinnell College Physics Department offers its students a rich learning environment consisting of a rigorous curriculum integrated with excellent opportunities for participation in research, all within a friendly and supportive community of students and faculty. Course offerings support both the preparation of physics majors for graduate study or other pursuits and the general education of other students. Grinnell's outstanding facilities and active faculty research programs make it easy for students to get the research experience that is an essential part of a high quality physics education. The department also offers unusually strong opportunities for students interested in astronomy and supports a 3-2 program in engineering.
Directions to the Robert N. Noyce'49 Science Center: From Interstate 80 head North on Hwy 146.Turn East (Right) on 6th Avenue. Visitor Parking may be found off 6th Avenue, in the lot near Admissions (west of Park Street on the north) or the lot east of the railroad crossing (at High Street on the north). The Noyce Science Center is located west of the railroad crossing on 8th Avenue. Entrances are located on the North, West, and South sides of the building. The Science Division Office/Information is in Room 1232. Directories are located inside all entrances of the Science Center.
