Chinese and Japanese Department

Want to engage deeply and knowledgeably with China and Japan? Grinnell takes you there, with a full curriculum in Chinese language and literature and two years of Japanese language and literature. The Chinese major and Chinese studies concentration include courses in history, music, political science, and religious studies and encourage study abroad and independent study. Majoring in Chinese can prepare you for graduate study or a career in government, international business, education, and more.
