Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Personnel Changes

Dear Colleagues,

It is my pleasure to write to you today to share news that Schvalla Rivera has been promoted from Associate Vice President to Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She will continue in her other senior leadership roles as Chief Diversity Officer and Senior Advisor to the President.

This change is concomitant with organizational structure changes to support implementation of strategic diversity, equity, and inclusion opportunities, which I shared with you in February, and with an expansion of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) office to include Accessibility and Disability Resources services. Autumn Wilke, who had been Assistant Dean for Disability Resources, will assume the role of Associate Chief Diversity Officer for Disability Resources.

These changes will complete the centralized coordination of crucial DEI endeavors within the College, with the goal of better serving our campus community. My thanks to Schvalla, Autumn, and to all who are dedicated to working toward an ever more diverse, equitable, and inclusive Grinnell.
