DIY Object Photo Station in Burling Library

A new DIY Object Photo Station is located in the Burling Media Room, Burling basement. Bring your own camera for this tabletop photo studio—a neutral backdrop and light soft-boxes can help you take professional photos with your cellphone.  The photo station is available anytime when not in use by library staff.

Special Collections will use the station for high quality photos of rare books and material in the collection to be used for digitization and digital exhibits. Perfect for documenting an art portfolio, staging items for a digital exhibit, or launching your stop-motion film career, it is ready for Grinnellian creativity.

We’d love to hear how you can put the photo station to use—email photos of your project to Burling Library Archives and you may be featured on a Library Instagram

For questions or help with the station, please contact the Grinnell College Libraries Special Collections and Archives via email or by calling 641-269-3364.
