An Influencer’s Influences: Callot, Goya, and Chagoya’s Interactions through Print Media focuses on Jacques Callot’s Les Grandes Misères de la Guerre (1633) series, Francisco de Goya’s Los Desastres de la Guerra (1810-1820) series, and Enrique Chagoya’s Homage to Goya II: Disasters of War (2003) series.

This exhibition explores how Goya was both influenced and influential. The print series interacts with others through various motif parallels and depictions of conflict. The artists mold their inspirations to fit their vision, making the works rooted in their own historical context while maintaining a timeless narrative.

The exhibit is available for viewing Jan. 29–March 13, 2022, and is located in Burling Gallery, Burling lower level.
