Alumni

We are very proud of our alumni! Our majors go on to work in architecture, arts management, community service, development, education, law, and museums and galleries—or physics, computer science, and economics. Those pursuing advanced degrees in art history have a brilliant track record. In recent years our alumni have been (or are) graduate students at the most prestigious academic institutions (UC Berkeley, Bryn Mawr, the Courtauld, Duke, Penn, Stanford, UCLA, Williams, and Yale, to name a few).

9th Semester 2012 Fellow

The Ninth Semester Fellowship in Studio Art is a competitive opportunity for continued independent research in the semester immediately following graduation. This fellowship provides financial support, studio space, time, and faculty feedback for a semester of creative research in preparation for graduate or professional work. In return for these benefits, the Ninth Semester Fellow assists the Department of Art through various tasks, such as helping install student art exhibitions, and studio lab monitoring.

Bucksbaum Center for the Arts

Recital Hall and Rehearsal Rooms

Sebring-Lewis Hall in the Bucksbaum Center has elevated Grinnell's musical performance tradition by providing an intimate, accessible, and acoustically responsive space. Well suited for student and faculty recitals and concerts, the recital hall preserves and enhances the College's level of musical excellence. Student performers test their skills here, and students in the audience discover new musical interests as they are exhilarated by listening to live music.
