Chaplain's Office

The Chaplain's Office offers assistance to anyone looking for places for worship, for involvement in religious student groups, and spiritual or renewal opportunities in and around Grinnell. Our goal is help students find resources for worship, prayer or renewal in whatever tradition they currently practice as well as assist them in exploring traditions and opportunities for beginning a faith or spiritual journey. Let us know how we can help you get connected.

Mission

In the Writing Lab, instructors assist students to become elegant, eloquent writers and public speakers and support faculty in their roles as teachers of writing and speaking across the curriculum.

The Life and Times of J.B. Grinnell

Josiah Bushnell Grinnell was a congressman, a minister, the founder of Grinnell College and a radical.  On the April 23, 2013 Talk of Iowa radio show, Charity Nebbe talked with a group of students at Grinnell College, who spent the semester exploring the life and beliefs of JB Grinnell.  She talked with them about what they uncovered on the life, works, and legacy of a complicated man.

Task Force on Safety, Responsibility, and Prevention

President Kington's commitment to prevention of sexual misconduct and substance abuse required an examination and plan to improve how the college community prevents incidents of sexual misconduct alongside a review of how we respond to allegations and acts of sexual misconduct. To address the first, President Kington appointed a Task Force on Safety, Responsibility, and Prevention whose main purpose is to propose a concrete program for our campus to prevent sexual misconduct, alcohol abuse, and violence, all of which have been found to be tightly related.
