The American Association of Publishers (AAP) has named a book co-edited by Professor of French David Harrison as a finalist in its Annual PROSE Award competition.

While it’s expected that a professor of English can discuss the finer points of Shakespeare, it’s not always a given that they can do so in a manner that is easily understood and engenders excitement and interest. Grinnell’s John Garrison is one of those who can — and does.

Grinnell College is pleased to announce that Ham Serunjogi ’16, the co-founder and CEO of Chipper Cash, will speak at the 2023 Commencement Ceremony on May 22, 2023.

With input from as many area residents as possible, the Build a Better Grinnell 2030 (BABG) project will produce a comprehensive assessment of needs and strengths, as determined by the people themselves.

The American Philosophical Society has awarded Sharon Quinsaat a $6,000 grant for her project, “Understanding Support for U.S. Conservative and Right-Wing Politics among Filipino Immigrants.”

This year’s speaker lineup includes three alumni, the College’s executive chef, and a Grinnell restaurateur.

Lectures will include “Diaspora and Double Happiness: Tracking Rice Bowls Across the Pacific” with Laura Ng and “Applying Anthropology in Build a Better Grinnell 2030 Community Visioning Project” with Monty Roper.
