Doctoral Trainee

Offices, Departments, or Centers: Student Health and Wellness ,

Pronouns: She/hers

Specialties/Areas of Interest/Specific Discipline or Theoretical orientation: My approach to therapy is multi-cultural in nature and centered around Feminist Theory. This means I aim to work with clients to explore the potential influences of culture and societal norms on their mental health and well-being, and strive to empower them in striving toward their goals. My approach is collaborative and relationship focused. I hope to encourage and challenge clients as they gain new understanding about their cultural identities, relationships, and patterns. My clinical interests include working with clients who have concerns around trauma, identity, and/or relationships.

Education: I am a 4th year student in the Counseling Psychology doctoral program at the University of Iowa. I received my bachelor’s in psychology and religious studies from Loras College in Dubuque, IA. This is my first year at Grinnell College.

Personal Hobbies: I enjoy playing sports and board games with friends in my free time. My partner and I love to try new foods and we are always on the lookout for delicious restaurants. While at home, I spend a lot of time caring for and propagating my house plants. I’m originally from New Mexico, so traveling and exploring different spots around the Midwest is my favorite way to spend my weekends!
