Human Rights Wikipedia Edit-a-thon

In conjunction with this week’s Technology and Human Rights Symposium, the Rosenfield Program is sponsoring a Human Rights Wikipedia Edit-a-thon, hosted by Grinnell College Libraries. Everyone is invited to take part. No prior experience or expert knowledge is required. And there are lots of ways to contribute, from writing a new article to simply adding links between relevant articles.

The work of human rights activists, movements, and scholars is often marginalized or erased from the historical record. We can help change that by collaboratively improving one of the world’s most popular and widely accessible encyclopedias.

Join us for a communal updating of Wikipedia entries on subjects related to human rights. We will provide tutorials for beginner Wikipedians, reference materials, and refreshments.

  • You can drop in & out at any time during the edit-a-thon
  • Bring your own laptop if you have one, or you can use on of the library computers.
  • Having an account is not required, but if you would like to create an account ahead of time it will be helpful.
