Campus Construction Update: March 21-27

Please be safe and aware of activity that may affect you. Construction is expanding beyond the HSSC site.

What you need to know:

A fence is being erected around Mac Field to facilitate geothermal well field drilling. Drilling is scheduled to be completed by August, and reseeding will occur next fall. Traffic on Mac Field will resume when the grass is fully established. Thank you for your patience while the College pursues energy sustainability in our learning spaces.

Major activity week of March 20 through the week of March 27:

  • Excavation of south pavilion to prepare for footing installation
  • Digging of foundation footings
  • Storm sewer tie-in west of Noyce
  • Layout of geothermal well field (Mac Field)
  • Mobilization of well drilling equipment and crew to geothermal site (Mac Field)
  • Underground investigation for directional boring for geothermal piping from HSSC to well field
  • Directional boring from HSSC to well field
  • Installations occurring during this time period:
  • Perimeter fence at geothermal well field (Mac Field)
  • Geothermal wells
  • Shoring for excavation at Carnegie and ARH
  • Completion of first phase, deep foundations; deep foundations contractor demobilizes from site. Heavy truck traffic on 8th Avenue, March 20-22
  • Foundation footings
  • Foundation walls
  • Storm water runoff protection at access road for geothermal well field (Mac Field)
  • East storm sewer, near Noyce
