Megan Prass
Doctoral Practicum
Megan joins Grinnell as a second-year counseling psychology doctoral student from the University of Iowa. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Maryland in 2018. Megan then went on to earn her Master's degree in counseling psychology from Towson University in Baltimore, MD.
As a therapist, Megan primarily takes an integrative approach, incorporating aspects of person-centered, psychodynamic, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) theories. She is interested in exploring patterns and connections between clients’ past experiences and the emotional difficulties they face in the present. Megan ultimately aims to tailor treatment and therapeutic interventions to her clients and their needs, and to provide empathic understanding. Additionally, she strives to be culturally responsive, acknowledging the societal and environmental realities that influence clients’ experiences of life.
In her free time, Megan enjoys spending time with her partner, their cat, and friends and family. She also enjoys cooking and traveling. She's excited to join the Grinnell College community!
