June 15 – July 27, 2019
This exhibition features quilts of all sizes, techniques, colors and patterns, designed and quilted by local Guild members. The exhibition opens during Summerfest on June 15 at 11 a.m. Guild members will sell small handmade quilts and other items that day. They will also collaborate with Faulconer Gallery on hands-on activities for children and families as part of the day’s programs. In addition, the guild will have a one-day exhibition of Quilts of Valor® in Cooper Lobby. Quilts of Valor® is a project of the Quilts of Valor® Foundation and provides personal quilts to veterans and service members across the country. Four of the quilts on view will be presented to veterans at a ceremony later in the day during Summerfest. During the exhibition, judges will select their favorites in seven categories while viewers will vote for their choice for “best of show.” As in years past the Guild will raffle a quilt titled “Summer Lovin’” during Summerfest, June 15. Tickets will be available in advance from guild members and on June 15 in Bucksbaum Center for the Arts.
