When Justina Lee ’22 visited Grinnell, she found a vibrant and supportive global community. Four years later, she has embraced opportunities to study abroad, perform with the Latin American Jazz Ensemble, and take on advocacy and mentorship roles.

During his time at Grinnell, Seth Bartusek ’21 lived in Farm House, played varsity baseball, and conducted marine biology research off the coast of New Zealand. Next, he’s headed to Alaska to work with the U.S. Forest Service!

New students, described by one as eager to explore Grinnell’s “academic smorgasbord,” bring their creativity and collaborative spirit that will enrich the College’s vibrant tradition of academic excellence within the liberal arts, inclusivity, and dynamic exchange of ideas. 

Ryuta Kure ’25, a computer science and economics major from Japan, mentored other international students, studied in Budapest, and conducted mentored research that resulted in an original video game — which you can play here!

Antonella Diaz ’23 came to Grinnell wanting a diverse, tight-knit community that welcomed international students, and a discussion-based, open curriculum that allowed her to explore topics that she hadn't studied before.
