Grinnell College’s athletic teams have made waves this season, setting records and earning national recognition across basketball and swimming & diving. From thrilling conference championships to record-breaking performances, the Pioneers continue to make history.

Will and Evelyn Freeman kindly took a few minutes with us to reflect on what their time at Grinnell has meant to them and to share memories from their years of coaching, mentoring, and learning.

Grinnell cross-country coach Sarah Burnell '14 talks to us about life in Grinnell and her work at the College.

Erin Hurley, associate professor of physical education, spent 28 years as head coach of Grinnell’s swimming and diving teams before retiring from that role at the end of the 2022– 23 season. She graciously agreed to take some time from her busy schedule to answer a few questions about her life and career.

As a Grinnell College student, Frederick Morgan Taylor 1926 sang first tenor with Glee Club; stared in a play, “The Goal;” studied English and business administration, and was known for dancing the best Charleston on campus. He also was the fastest hurdler in the world.
