Is New Student Orientation (NSO) mandatory?
Yes, NSO is mandatory for all incoming Grinnell College students.
When does NSO occur?
NSO starts on move-in day Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, and ends Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, the day before classes start.
What will I do at NSO?
Here's a short list of things you'll do during orientation: meet new friends, get familiar with campus and campus resources, learn about what makes Grinnell special, and have fun!
Where can I find the NSO schedule?
Please download GC Events through the app store prior to your arrival. Once you've downloaded the app, search and select “New Student Orientation” as your guide. This will give you the most up-to-date schedule.
What is an NSO ambassador?
Each small group of students will be led through the NSO events by an upperclassman called your NSO ambassador. They are great resources for you!
