Did you know that there are so many different sporting events you can attend during your time here at Grinnell? Although you can’t beat the thrill of supporting your friends and classmates at any of Grinnell’s 20 varsity teams’ competitions, you can always venture beyond campus to see other Iowa teams in action.

Head over to any of these four universities near Grinnell for nationally ranked programs in football, basketball, and more: the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, the University of Northern Iowa, and Drake University.

Drake University’s famous Blue Oval track ‍has been a frequent host to the USA professional outdoor track and field championships, and the Iowa State Cyclones frequently play in the Big 12 Conference in NCAA Division I. In football, the University of Iowa Hawkeyes are nationally ranked for their football team and participate in the Big Ten Conference for athletics, so you can bet that there will always be a crowd.
