Anthropology alumna Amanda Gotera ’09 has been named a 2014-15 Princess Grace Award winner in film.

The elite award includes a cash prize that Gotera will use for her upcoming thesis project, Middle Witch. The film “keeps its teeth sharp and features heroines who are neither charming nor easily-digestible but human and messy and dark” and “incorporate[s] her technical training in Visual Effects, through a subtle blend of practical and digital FX.”

She is earning her master of fine arts at the University of Texas–Austin in the Moody College of Communication Department of Radio-Television-Film (RTF).
