Please join the Grinnell College Libraries in celebrating National Poetry Month with a poetry egg hunt during the week of April 5–9 on Grinnell College campus.

What: Poetry Egg Hunt
When: April 5–9, 2021
Where: Campus Grounds

Over 100 eggs filled with a poem and a gift will be hidden around campus and you are free to open the eggs and share the poems with others.

We ask that you:

  • Please maintain the designated social distancing and wear a mask.
  • Please return the eggs to the library dropbox.
  • Please limit two eggs per person per day to give everyone a chance to have a fun experience of finding and reading a good poem.

National Poetry Month is the largest literary celebration in the world, with tens of millions of readers, students, K-12 teachers, librarians, booksellers, literary events curators, publishers, bloggers, and, of course, poets marking poetry’s important place in our culture and our lives every April.

Poets.org provides poems, events, and much more for poetry lovers and educators. Search their curated collection of over 9,500 poems, over 3,000 poet biographies, as well as essays about poetry, and some of the most important books, anthologies, and textbooks about the art form ever written.
