Speaker Bio

John Hassard is founding associate director of the Institute for Security, Science and Technology at Imperial College London. He has developed an advanced air pollution analysis system and founded the tidal power company HydroVenturi Ltd., where he serves as non-executive chairman. He also has worked on policy and technologies of nuclear power and the proliferation of nuclear weapons. In addition, he is interested in applications of particle physics in biotechnology.
