Computer Science Poster Session Features Student Research

Nov 30, 2023

The department of Computer Science hosted its first open poster session, funded by donors to the department's gift fund. The event featured a wide range of projects, as students shared work they'd conducted during Mentored Advanced Projects (MAPs), internships, off-campus research, and as independent work. Student, faculty, and staff attendees browsed the room, set up to replicate the poster sessions that are the hallmark of academic conferences in computing.

The department plans to host the event every semester moving forward, says Charlie Curtsinger, co-chair of the department, "The funding for this event came from donors, many of whom are alumni, who contribute to the college and direct their funds to the computer science department," Curtsinger explains.
