Ilyse Morgenstein Fuerst is a scholar of Islamic studies whose research interests include: definitions and theories of “religion,” Indo-Persian manuscripts, South Asian religions, and racializations of religion. She co-hosts the podcast “Keeping it 101: A Killjoy’s Intro to Religion,” and has authored or co-authored publications such as Indian Muslim Minorities and the 1857 Rebellion: Religion, Rebels, and Jihad and the forthcoming Words of Experience: Translating Islam with Carl W.
