New Video Production Studio and New Study Space in Burling

Grinnell College's Video Production Studio has a new home! The production studio has been relocated into a newly renovated space in the lower level of Burling Library. The new location is spacious and quiet and is accessible to students, faculty, and staff.

The production studio is equipped with professional quality video and audio production gear. The space can be used to record and edit high-quality video, screencasts, and audio. Students, faculty and staff who wish to use the space can simply check out a key at the circulation desk. A student assistant will staff the space to offer expertise in creating and editing media and assist with media production under the direction of Mike Conner, Digital Liberal Arts Specialist.

The production studio was born as an Innovation Fund project and is intended to be a resource for faculty creating instructional content, students completing media related assignments, and more. With media becoming an increasingly popular method of consuming and crafting messages, the goal of the production studio is to provide the equipment, software, and expertise to allow the Grinnell community to develop and refine the skill of crafting compelling media.  The video studio may be reserved by sending a meeting request to cnfburvideo@grinnell.edu.

In addition, Burling Library has a new study space open on evenings, weekends, and when it is not scheduled during the day.  It is the Media Conference Room and is located in front of the Production Studio in the lower level of Burling Library.  The Media Conference Room may be reserved by sending a meeting request to cnfburmedia@grinnell.edu.
