Preservation at the Grinnell College Libraries

May 16, 2017

Please join the Grinnell College Libraries in celebrating National Preservation Week, April 23-29, by taking a look at our preservation book display containing examples and tips you can use to save our books.

"Despite how silent and still our stacks look, there’s more going on in them than meets the eye…  Grinnell College Libraries are committed not only to collecting knowledge but also to its preservation. Preserving our materials, which includes both physical and digital methods, is vital to assuring the continued accessibility of our collections. Explore this display to learn more about preservation in our libraries and how to use our materials mindfully. Protecting the future is all of our responsibilities!" --Lydia Scott '17

Lydia Scott ‘17 is a mend/bind student assistant at Burling Library. She is an English major who will be attending the School of Library and Information Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the fall. She begs you to stop writing in library books, since she has to erase them.
