A 5-part podcast based on summer research about the baseball film Field of Dreams. A brief comparison of Buffalo Bill and the QAnon Shaman at the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. capitol. A research paper about Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy in schools.

These are samples of the work accomplished by students concentrating in American studies. Their work has been bound together in 2020–2021 American Studies Student Journal (pdf) by the American Studies Student Educational Policy Committee.

“Our hope is that this journal not only highlights the work produced by the students but demonstrates the interdisciplinary nature of American Studies and its relevancy to core questions Grinnell students and faculty confront with their research, classrooms, peer groups, and more.”
