This publication is indispensible for the study of the origins and practice of 1960’s and 1970’s feminism. This is a primary source archive of first-hand description, commentary, critique and debate about the concepts, strategy and tactics that were crucial to the growth of the Women’s Liberation movement. It demonstrates the links between southern civil rights groups, the Black Power movement, and the Women’s Liberation movement.

The term "Redstockings" is a reference to the bluestocking label disparagingly pinned on earlier feminists (inferring that only wealthy educated ladies were feminists) – "Red" is for revolution!
