The Ignite Program provides an opportunity for youngsters to experience a college campus and take fun, educational classes taught by Grinnell College students. Ignite aims to foster curiosity and expose children to subject areas outside the realm of traditional elementary school classes. Previous Ignite courses include Physics of Paper Planes; Paint it, Picasso; and Slimed: Intro to Pollution. Each child attends two courses, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Every registered student will receive a free t-shirt, lunch and snacks. Enrollment is limited to 15 students per course.

How to Register

Beginning at 8 a.m. Oct. 26, a list of Ignite courses and online registration will be available. Parents registering more than one child need to submit a separate application for each child. Questions may be submitted to the following email addresses: communityenhance@grinnell.edu or ignite@grinnell.edu. Parents without internet access may ask questions and conduct registration by phone at 641-269-3900 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
