A monthly inter-institutional research seminar had its inaugural meeting at Grinnell College on October 6, 2016. The location for the Iowa Colloquium of Information, Complexity, and Logic (ICICL) will rotate between Grinnell College, Iowa State University, and Drake University. Each meeting consists of a technical research talk followed by discussion, and everyone is welcome to attend. The seminars will address topics such as computational theory, complexity theory, pure mathematics, and related fields.

The first speaker was Jack Lutz, Professor of Computer Science and Professor of Mathematics at Iowa State University, giving a talk on work that was conducted with Neil Lutz: Algorithmic Information, Plane Kakeya Sets, and Conditional Dimension.

ICICL co-organizers at Grinnell College are Titus Klinge, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, and Joe Mileti, Associate Professor of Mathematics and Statistics. Future meetings include November 3, 2016, at Drake University, and December 1, 2016, at Iowa State University.
