SAVE THE DATE and Well Wishes for Spring Break

Dear Grinnellians,
As we prepare to disperse for spring break, the world is enduring turmoil, conflict, and uncertainty. Our community connects to the entire world, and we are all impacted through our own experiences. The learning and work that you are doing at Grinnell shapes and fosters what is good and worthwhile – thank you for being here. Spring break comes with the generative possibility of respite, discovery, connection, and renewal for each of you, and I hope that it is a restorative time for all of you.
When we gather again, I invite you to a Legislative Update on Wednesday, March 25 from noon to 1 p.m. in the HSSC Auditorium. The second funnel of the Iowa legislature will have closed on March 20, and we should have further information on federal legislative action by then as well. I will look forward to discussing these developments for 20 minutes and then to your questions for 30 minutes. We will have an online Webex webinar option, that you can join from via this link and here is a link to the Qualtrics form where you can submit questions in advance. The update will be recorded and placed on the Campus Forums SharePoint site, where you can find past legislative updates from 2025 and further information. For more frequent updates, I refer you to the Weekly Digest written for our Board of Trustees and shared with our campus community from the Senior Leadership SharePoint site.
Above all, I hope that you know how vital and beautiful you are at Grinnell and in the world. We will continue our meaningful work here together, stronger for the time and care we have given ourselves and each other over the next two weeks’ break – and always.
