Dear Grinnellians:

I am writing to inform you that Andrea Conner, Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, will be leaving her position to become Vice President and Dean of Students at Lake Forest College, in Lake Forest, Illinois. Andrea's last day at Grinnell will be June 29, and she will assume her new role July 16. The College is finalizing details of a transition process and interim team in Student Affairs. Additional information will be shared when it becomes available.

Andrea received her bachelor's degree from Coe College in music and theater and earned her master's degree from Iowa State University in higher education administration/student affairs. She then served for eight years in increasingly responsible student affairs positions at Macalester College, Knox College, and Bard College.

Hired at Grinnell in 2009 as Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Residence Life and Orientation, Andrea was successively promoted to Associate Dean of Students, Dean of Students, and Associate Vice President for Student Affairs.

As part of the senior leadership team, Andrea has greatly contributed her professional expertise as well as her tremendous camaraderie to the team. She has demonstrated exceptional leadership and positive energy in her efforts toward strategic investments in intercultural affairs, Campus Safety, and SHACS, as well as in working to create a more seamless learning environment in and out of the classroom through the Task Force on Residential Learning.

It has been an enjoyable privilege for me to work with Andrea over the past years. I know I speak for the entire college community in thanking her for her service and wishing her well in her new position.

Sincerely,
Raynard S. Kington
President
