Special Grant Award Assistance for Academic Year 2020-21
Dear Grinnellians,
We understand that each of you is facing unique personal challenges as you deal with the continued impact of the COVID-19 crisis. You have invested so much in your Grinnell education — your time, your resources, and your passion — and now find yourself facing incredible uncertainty about the future. In these extraordinary times, we want to recognize all that you have given by investing in you through additional financial support to assist you in completing your degree. We have approved a one-time COVID-19 Response Grant of $2,500 for every continuing Grinnell student who enrolls for academic year 2020-21.
The hardships created by the COVID-19 crisis have had far-reaching impact on the economy and the ability of many to earn an income. We recognize that Grinnell students and families around the world are facing a variety of financial hardships that could never have been foreseen. You may have planned to work this summer in a job that will no longer exist, or have saved money that is now needed for unanticipated expenses. We hope that this grant will help alleviate some of the uncertainty you might be experiencing as you think about finishing your remaining time as a Grinnell student.
You do not need to complete any additional application or paperwork in order to receive this grant. It is a gift that does not need to be repaid. Additional details on the distribution of this grant will be forthcoming from the Financial Aid Office.
You have all endured a great deal, and we want to continue to offer our support. Please contact the Financial Aid Office if you have any questions about the COVID-19 Response Grant or your personal financial situation at Grinnell.
Stay well, stay safe, stay positive.
Sincerely
Raynard and Anne
