Rosenbloom Field

Located in a natural bowl north of 10th Avenue, Rosenbloom Field is home to the Grinnell Pioneers football team. It features a large press box and outdoor seating for 1,500, and it memorializes the first intercollegiate football game in Iowa and one of the first played west of the Mississippi. Grinnell College defeated the University of Iowa, 24-0.

The football team competes on an established site that has undergone renovations in recent years. In the summer of 2002, the field was upgraded to include an underground irrigation system. Spectators enjoy a great perspective of the game no matter where they sit. In the fall of 2002, the football team moved to a new practice facility, located just east of Rosenbloom. The practice facility features underground irrigation.
