Re: Staffing Requests

In order to prepare next year's academic budget, we need to have your request by October 14, 2013 for any part-time or full-time term positions that will be needed in your department in 2014-2015. If the sabbatical and/or other leave plans of faculty in your department are uncertain, you should outline possible staffing needs depending on the range of those plans. Although the normal expectation is that faculty members who are away for just one semester are not replaced, you should include requests and rationales for course coverage you consider essential. If a member of your department were to receive a Harris Leave, your department would be eligible for a replacement automatically as part of the award, so you do not need to cover such a possibility in your request. Requests for additional non-faculty positions should be submitted along with annual non-salary budget requests. Please let me know if you have any questions.
