Autumn Wilke, Associate Chief Diversity Officer for Disability Resources

Hello!

My name is Autumn Wilke, and I am the Associate Chief Diversity Officer for Disability Resources.

Each year, the entering class is a highly qualified group of students that includes people with physical, psychological, and learning disabilities. We want you to know that Grinnell is committed to providing equal access and reasonable accommodations for our students with disabilities.

We are happy to begin working with you on your access needs anytime. Our office does the following:

  • Helps implement accommodations for students with disabilities in the residential, academic, and dining environments. Approximately 20% of Grinnell students identify as disabled and use one or more accommodations on campus.
  • Hosts educational programming about disability culture and advancing accessibility.
  • Assists students with building their own personalized access plans. Several students from the class of 2028 have already begun to connect with our office to build these.

Students with access questions are welcome to email our office at access@grinnell.edu any time, and I am also happy to connect with admitted students interested in learning about disability cultural opportunities at Grinnell College. Do not hesitate to reach out to me at wilkeaut@grinnell.edu. I look forward to meeting you in the fall!

Congratulations again, and welcome to Grinnell.

Best,

Autumn Wilke
Associate Chief Diversity Officer for Disability Resources
