Chaz Del Mar ’22 was recruited to play football at Grinnell, and he loved the family he found through football. However, that was only the start of his Grinnell journey — he also went on an environmental stewardship Alternative Break trip, did an affordable housing internship, and researched the history of afro-futurism. Through it all, he has savored the kindness and support of the people at Grinnell.

Robert Gehorsam ’76 might be called a modern renaissance man. His career has spanned the entire arc of digital platforms and entertainment from the infancy of interactive online experiences through the introduction of generative artificial intelligence. When Eva Román Aguilera ’22, visited Grinnell, she felt safe, comfortable, and empowered to shape her education. Recognizing that nonprofits play a critical role in advancing education, the arts, and accessibility, the program also aims to build their organizational and financial capacity to serve the Grinnell area effectively.

Some of Grinnell’s financially savvy students surveyed their classmates to find out what they knew about the College’s endowment. The results challenged a few assumptions and shed light on what today’s students think about the endowment’s operation and purpose.
