Steve Oberg
Steve Oberg is an Associate Professor and Head of Technical Services in the Libraries at Grinnell College.
In his role, Steve manages the staff and processes that are key to making online and physical library collections discoverable through purchasing research materials and organizing them in ways that serve users. He also serves as the Consulting Librarian for German Studies, Philosophy, and Religious Studies.
He is active professionally, having twice been elected president of NASIG (https://www.nasig.org), served on multiple peer-reviewed journal editorial boards, and been involved in various committees of the American Library Association (ALA). Steve also teaches courses on technical services functions, bibliographic metadata, e-resources management, and reference at the iSchool @ Illinois, the top-ranked program of its kind. His research interests include organization of information, scholarly communication, and open source software for libraries.
