What I love about my territory: I am fortunate to be able to travel to states and cities that I have called home at various points in my life. The familiar views, smells, foods, and even traffic rejuvenate my spirit and prepare me to talk to folks about the value of a liberal arts education at Grinnell College.
What I love about Grinnell: Frankly, I love the people here. From the folks in the community at large and those who work at the College, to the student body, I love the vibrant community that comes together to make this place intellectually vibrant, comfortable, and a great place to live and learn.
Hobbies/activities: I enjoy reading cookbooks and looking at recipe websites because I love trying out new dinners and desserts — even when an experiment fails. I also enjoy all kinds of pop culture, especially movies and television series, and awards shows are a favorite!
Advice about searching for schools: Keep your own learning style at top of mind when thinking about the qualities you desire in a college — how do you learn best, and will the colleges that you are applying to meet your requirements?
Advice about applying to schools: Remember that there are a lot of colleges that can provide you with great learning experiences — be open to the possibilities.
