Community Relations and Grant Coordinator
Donnette Ellis is the Community Relations and Grant Coordinator in the Office of Community Partnerships, Planning, and Research. She leads efforts to promote community engagement opportunities, showcase Grinnell College’s role in community vitality, and reinforce a culture of positive campus-community engagement. Donnette coordinates the community giving programs to enrich local quality of life, build nonprofit capacity, and support community partners. Examples include the Grinnell College Community Mini-grant Program, Grinnell College donations and sponsorship community investment requests, and the Grinnell College Employee Volunteer Initiative Program. Donnette is also the main contact for general office management. Before becoming full time with the College in 2012, she worked as an On-Call Dispatcher for Campus Safety since 2005. Her previous work experience includes over 15 years with Fortune 500 Companies, such as Monsanto (Bayer), John Deere Credit, and 10 years with Maytag Services, LLC, a division of Maytag Corporation.
